Overview

HZ Harvest USA INC is a small, mid-range window treatment installation business servicing mostly residential homes. I worked primarily as a web and UX designer. Working with limited resources in small business environment was difficult to adjust to, but helped me develop my professional skillset.

Outcome

I rebranded the company to HZ Window Treatments and set up their entire customer facing digital presence. I did everything from the Google Business Profile to the website including much of the asset sourcing. This has lead directly to multiple clients discovering the company online and subsequently placing orders.

Be active, take initiative

Working without a design team means that applying my skillset is entirely on me. I learned to lead, determine project parameters, and execute in a business environment.

Communicate and understand

My co-workers were specialized in entirely different things than design, which made me learn how to translate their words, anticipate their needs, and apply that to my work.

Adapt

As this is a small company, I frequently put on different hats. Some days I needed to be a handyman or a salesman or both. Learning to manage projects while juggling emerging tasks was a big part of my success.
