PREMABLE
In order to build a product for the future, we conducted "market research" by making an accurate prediction of what that future will look like and how consumer tastes will evolve. All predictions and ideation were based on secondary research of current societal trends, technologies, and analysis performed by established organizations.
STEEPX Trend Analysis
I began research by collecting various trends and forecasts with my teammate, building a picture of 2030 and looking specifically for threats and opportunities.
Four Futures
Based on the STEEPX analysis, we hypothesized four different futures that 2042 could look like. We selected the most preferred future as our basis for design.
Possible
Severe scenario in which climate change and societal crisis leads to extreme loss in living standards.
Plausible
A future where living standards equalize globally, but society changes significantly to counteract climate change.
Probable
The most likely future where living standards are unequal, but society will focus on improving them.
Preferred
An ideal future that's equitable, sustainable, and healthy. Living standards and happiness increase across the board.
Note: Later in our research, we discovered that technology will likely progress fast enough that we can build a marketable solution by 2030 in anticipation of changing attitudes on the way to 2042.

Personas: The tech-savvy, health-conscious consumer of the future
Age Demographic
Early Gen Z (30s) - Mid Gen X (60s)
Geographic Location
Urban United States, where most occupations are sedentary and people exercise as a matter of recreation and have a tendency to eat out.
Attitudes
By this future, people will acknowledge the importance of health and wellness. They will prioritize things like work-life balance, social wellness, and may even look into alternative medicine as a pushback against institutional healthcare.
Morphologocial Analysis
Focusing on food alternatives and personalized healthcare, we looked at the confluences of trends to look for potential opportunities.
Easy Bioscanning
Intelligent Nutrition
Personalized Medicine
Looking at these trends, we identified a great synergy. By understanding our bodies with accurate self assessment tools, we can leverage AI to personalize lifestyle advice according to our specific needs.
Ideation
We went through many wild initial ideas on what we thought future technology and market demand could feasibly produce. Some ideas are simply improvements of existing innovations like telemedicine while others are more novel.
Concept: Heyday
Out of our ideation, we found a number of concepts that enable the burgeoning field of user-personalized healthcare.
Advancements in biological monitoring will allow you to conveniently scan your physical health through personal devices including wearables. AI and medical databases can offer diagnoses. Artificial food and nutrition solutions allows for detailed control over our nutritional intake.
Combined, these advancements let a person monitor their daily needs, get good assessments of their health, and have automatically generated supplement plans.
Scenario
A user will take pictures of their food before they eat. This can be done through a phone app, intelligent assistant, or, as shown here, AR glasses.
AI recognition algorithms will be able to identify the food and portion sizes. Nutritional information will be displayed and logged upon consumption.
User-set or recommended dietary settings will warn the user of of concerns.
At the end of the day, the smart blender will mix up a nutritional smoothie which compensates for any shortcomings or over-consumption.
BRAND ATTRIBUTES

Branding
I wanted this product environment to align with energetic and optimistic emotions. Heyday is about preventative care, helping and encouraging users to lead more active lives. It's meant to align with invigoration and healing, but is distinct from medicine.
